Mary grew up in the rural town of Hartland, Wisconsin. The oldest of six and Catholic-school-educated, Mary’s life revolved around church, community, and children. After attending the UW Madison, Mary went to work at the University Catholic Center, and was actively involved in teaching Sunday school, working on outreach meal programs for the homeless, and keeping the schedules of the many priests and sisters who worked there. A job relocation brought Mary and her husband Mark to Marietta in 1986.In 1990, FPC hired Mary to teach two-year-olds in the Weekday Preschool program, where she stayed for eight years before leaving to become the Nursery and Club 3:30 Director.
When not at work, you can find Mary at home in Smyrna with Mark and their dog Walter Mittens, working in the garden, volunteering with the Sisters of Mercy in Atlanta, or visiting her son Max.
Mary recommends: That parents pray, breathe, and slow down – it goes by so fast!
