Care & Support

Stephen Ministry
So much in life can sideline us: illness, grief, job loss, financial crisis, aging, separation or divorce, loneliness, birth or adoption, spiritual crisis… sometimes we just need someone to talk to about it all. Trained Stephen Ministers are ready to provide you with distinctively Christian one-on-one caregiving as you deal with any life difficulty or transition.

My Handy Friend
This ministry provides free services to our members with limited ability such as skill level, physical, or economic ability, who need some assistance.
Examples of simple repairs are help with a light switch that doesn’t work, repair for a railing on your back porch which is loose, or cut and remove fallen limbs.

National Alliance on Mental Illness
Support Groups for individuals with a mental health condition and another group for families who have a loved one with a mental health condition meet every week at FPC and the NAMI Family-to-Family eight-week education class (for family members) as well as the Peer-to-Peer class (for diagnosed individuals) is offered periodically.

Pastoral Care
Visitation
Our pastors are available to visit those who have difficulty coming to worship or who may need a way to stay connected to our church family.
Prayer Requests
Prayer requests are kept confidential unless you give permission for them to be printed in our weekly Prayer Email.
In-Home Communion
Our pastors and elders are available the first Sunday of every month, or as needed, to offer in-home communion to those unable to attend worship in person.

Pantry on Church
We partner with Sweetwater Mission (sweetwatermission.org) in Austell to distribute groceries and essentials to approximately 280 families who drive through our church’s main parking lot every Tuesday between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Families who need this service do not need to make an appointment. There is no cost; a minimum amount of data is collected.
