Food Connection

When they had all had enough to eat, Jesus said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." John 6:12 (NIV)

Food Connection Mission: Expand Global network linking available sources of surplus food to those in need through existing charitable organizations.
Food Connection Details: Food Connection provides an alternative to discarding surplus wholesome food by linking food service donors with surplus food to local hunger relief agencies. They do this by creating and maintaining an efficient communication and reporting network that links available sources of food to feed the community's hungry. FPC's role is to be the liaison between the food providers and the recipients. Learn how Food Connection serves another community here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3U1LyHaBaQ

FPC’s Role in this program:  We will be the (link) between KSU and MUST at the beginning. Right now MUST needs 240 pounds of food each day and that’s the exact amount of surplus food KSU has each day. KSU student volunteers will package and transport the food to MUST.  It will be kicked off in June, 2016 for 2 days each week. We hope to expand this program as time goes on with other agencies and restaurants in the area. The sky is the limit. Learn more here.
