Here is a way to bless others while you yourself receive blessings. The Prayer Shawl Ministry offers those who knit or crochet the opportunity to enrich their prayer time by creating shawls for others who are in need of encouragement or are celebrating (e.g., illness, grief, marriage, birth of a child, etc.). Throughout the process, each shawl and its future recipient will be prayed over by the group and by the person who knits or crochets it. Then each completed shawl will be blessed by the group and cataloged and stored at the church. When a shawl is needed for a recipient, a record of the shawl’s placement will be recorded.
Pastors, Stephen Ministers, Martha Ministers, Home Visitation Team and any other person will be able to present the shawls by contacting the church to determine availability of the desired shawl type.
We are blessed to have six small groups meeting at various times on different days of the week. Meetings last one hour and include prayer, time to chat and discuss the shawls in process, and quiet time to work. |
