Music and Fine Arts

At FPC, we believe that music and the arts are an inextricable part of our worship expression. Worship is at the heart of who we are and what we do.  We were created to worship!

The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir has sung concerts throughout the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.  The Chancel Choir sings music ranging from the Renaissance and Baroque through the most contemporary of sounds including jazz and gospel arrangements from the African American tradition. In 2015, the Chancel Choir was noted as being the only choir north of downtown Atlanta to offer a presentation of Handel’s Messiah.  Most recently, the choir presented Rutter's Mass of the Children along with the Georgia Youth Choir and Mozart's Requiem with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  We are looking forward to singing Rutter's Gloria this December.  Positions are open in every section. Singers must thrive serving in a Christ focused culture and be able to demonstrate a love for one another and for their community. This group meets Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Begins August 8.

Sanctuary Singers

The Sanctuary Singers is always accepting new members. This group currently meets on Wednesdays in the Choir Room at 11:00 a.m. for rehearsal and prayer. We sing the classics of choral repertoire and offer our voices in worship at least two Sundays per month. We normally participate in the 8:30 a.m. service, held in the historic Sanctuary. Many members of this group also sing in the Chancel Choir. The only requirement is a love for Jesus and the desire to sing His praise. Begins September 5.

The Carillon Ringers Bell Choir began the long standing tradition of FPC’s annual Christmas Carol Sing. The group is open to any interested musicians, high school students through adults, beginning to advanced ringers. Rehearsals are Sundays, 6:00 - 7:20 p.m. in room 239. Begins August 19.

Kirk Ringers Handbell Choir: High School through Senior Adult

The Kirk Ringers is an advanced bell choir that has performed throughout the US and Europe.  This October, the "Kirk's" will be undertaking a mission/concert tour of Mexico City and Puebla. Understanding advanced ringing techniques and the ability to “sight read” music is essential to joining this group. The Kirks meet on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in room 239. We usually select a restaurant on the square for an early dinner around 5:30 p.m., prior to rehearsal.  Begins July 16.

The Church Street Brass

The Church Street Brass joined FPC's Music and Arts Ministries in 2017 when a group of young college conservatory graduates were looking for a home where they could rehearse and gain performance experience.  The CSB participates in worship monthly and they teach in the Music and Arts Institute.  They enjoy a wide range of musical repertoire ranging from the historic to the contemporary.  They are available for weddings, memorials and parties.  Contact: Dr. Jeffrey Meeks, (770) 427-0293 x262
